Quite a bit of history on display here.

Got a personal tour from one of the ladies working there and she had a wealth of information on the area and on the items on display at the museum. Very impressive.

Well done displays of history of the county. Material and artifacts are quality, and well laid out and described. See the model train layout too.

We got so much more from this visit than we expected! The building is basically original and very beautiful. We met a retired judge, a Vietnam vet, who owns much of the military collection which spans from the Civil War to Desert Storm. (We took his picture). There is an old picture of a log cabin which is thought to... More

My husband and I have been to this museum in the Courthouse, which shows a wonderful depiction of life during the Revolutionary War and Civil War and in 1979, it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. But there are important monuments around the side of the building that should not be overlooked. They are dedicated to citizens... More

The Hendersonville Heritage Museum is a great place to visit for everyone. It takes you from the revolution up thru present day. It shows you uniforms of the period along with weapons and tidbits about it. They also have other displays such as the largest pig ever recorded. There is also a small gift shop. My husband and I stopped in the courthouse and stayed about a half hour wandering through their wonderful exhibits of local history. Free admission. It is the County's 2nd Courthouse, built in 1905 next to the original (built 1840) which was torn down when the 2nd Courthouse was completed. In 1979 the current courthouse was added to the National Register... More

We were in town for a day trip, it was hot, and there was this big beautiful building that happened to be a museum in the midst of a very beautiful Main Street. We were happy to find it nicely air-conditioned inside. What a gem! Visiting museums like this should be mandatory for local education. The exhibits were a wealth... More
