We visited river with my family via Toxotes village. The nature is incredible. You can swim into the river or do kayak.

The gorge is beautiful but these pictures are in the wrong location. The walk starts at the bottom of Galanin town. An amazing walk. We also drove to the look out afterwards and then onto Stavroupoli but there was nothing there.

The Nestosriver is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe. She meanders through a beautiful region in Thrace. Canyons and forests around. You can take canoe trips, but due to rainy weather, we sadly could not this time.

I highly recommend canoeing down the Nestos river. As we were told the area is one of the largest and most bio-diverse nature reserves of Europe.

We took a couple of hours to Canoe the river. Motor boats or forbidden here. It is such a peacefull experience paddling through the curves of the river and seeing the rocks high above you.
