Smelly, old building housing Native American artifacts. It's just sad that this was the best NC could do for any type of museum in the area and this was the best they could do in a tribute to the Native American people.

Don't miss the opportunity to visit this museum while in the Cape Hatteras area. Yes, it is old and as one reviewer said maybe a little "musty" but the exhibits are a collection of some of the oldest and finest Native American artifacts I have...More

This place is disappointing. It smells like a musky basement throughout the building. It's hard to focus on looking at all of the artifacts when the building smells so gross. The place is in such poor condition its shocking to know they actually charge admission....More

Good Morning Jessica, Thank you for your review. We were hit by Hurricane Matthew and are still not back to 100%. The museum was closed for six months while damaged displays were removed, mold remediation occurred and we rebuilt. FNAM is a 501c non-profit, but...More

Worth the stop. The admission price is very reasonable. Things I enjoyed are the variety of bows and arrows.Every room has so many artifacts and really good signage.

I visited the museum for the first time yesterday and was very impressed with the quality and variety of exhibits inside a building that looks very modest on the outside. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful and provided to each visitor their name written...More

The Frisco Native American Museum was excellent. It appears to be very small from the street but is very deep. Many tribes are represented and the person we spoke with (I believe she is the curator or the assistant curator) was very helpful to adults...More

This place is worth the visit if you're staying in the area. Admission was a bit under $6 for adults which isn't too bad. There's a trail behind the building that's free, and although it's self-guided and kind of confusing with little to see, it...More

We enjoyed our visit to the Native American Museum. I always wondered - why here? Many native Americans lived on the Outer Banks before colonization

It's hard to believe that this was started by one mans love for The Native Americans . We were told he opened the museum 30 years ago with these beautiful objects he collected through the years. He did it with his own money- no government...More
