This 1,200-acre park was once the estate of William Neal Reynolds, brother of tobacco businessman R.J. Reynolds. The Reynolds willed the Tanglewood property to the citizens of Forsyth County to share as a public recreational park. The combination of its streams, woodlands, and grassy pastures with the traditions of its architecture, horses, gardening, and wide range of recreational activities make Tanglewood an ideal countryside park to visit over and over again.

My family and I have come to Tanglewood for the last 20 years this was the worst year ever. It will also be our last. The sheriff out front directed my family car one way and when we started to go that way he yelled at us where do you think your going. We told him that you waved us... More

Hi Kelly, Thank you for your review and for choosing to visit Festival of Lights. I am so sorry to hear of your experience! I apologize for the rude comments of the deputy outside the park. While directing traffic coming into the show is a difficult job there is no excuse. As for the security guard who waved your group... More

The approximately four mile stretch of lights are beautiful. Probably best seen in a convertible since the lights are several stories high and many have motion. My only wish is that they took cash only. The line to see the lights is quite long at times. Fortunately, they have some lights in the road leading to the entrance.

You can use the walking trails and dog park without actually paying to go into park. Really appreciate this. It is a beautiful, well maintained park.

I have been going to those park, for 25 years. This is a perfect place for an large gathering, family cookout, or Christmas event. We love shelter #4, next to a play ground, for our church events. My family also enjoys a small cookout/party, near the lake. We also enjoy tbe area's largest Christmas lite display, that you can drive... More

While Tanglewood's Christmas Lights are well known and very much worth a visit or two, the park in itself is fabulous. They have a great camping area. A dog park. A walking trail. Picnic shelters and many other reasons to visit.
