have canoed and kayaked down several segments of this river. don't go when the river is too low. you'll end up having to get out and walk your boat down.

First off, there really is no "river" due to the dams at Lake Norman, Mountain Island Lake and Lake Wylie. The river is most river like north of the Riverbend area on Mountain Island Lake and south of the Mountain Island Lake dam. These areas,...More

We visited the Catawba Cultural Center in Rock Hill. The Center boasts gorgeous trails that lead right to the river which is often used by the Catawba people. The scenery was breathtaking and serene. I hated to leave. So beautiful.

I decided to go mountain biking after school one day so I came down to the river walk since they were the closest trails. The trails were not very well marked and I ended up going the wrong way a bunch of times and it...More

Where is flows into Lake Wylie is the best part. But up-river there are a few watering holes (no! I mean restaurants/bars!) that are quite nice. Such a shame the fish camp by the bridge over to Belmont on Wilkinson has closed down, it was...More

It is a nice place to kayak if you do it on a weekend when the dam has a release. Watch for rocks and shoals. Can be treacherous at some places on the river.

We canoed here recently in the fall and had a nice time. had to get out of the canoe a few times to get over rocks. Surprised no one has made this an enterprise for canoeing.

I enjoy the outdoors and the water. The fish werent biting, but enjoyed being near the water and being out of doors. Great for boating, fishing and swimming in some areas.

It's a river. It doesn't have a street address. I would suggest looking at "Recreation on the River" section of the Catawba Riverkeeper website.
