Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This park was an enjoyable walk. My wife and I took one of the paper guides that take you to some of the more interesting architectural homes located around the park and vicinity. The guide gives historical details on the homes and any improvements made.

We drove around the neighbourhood to see the houses and they were lovely to see - it makes you feel like you are in the Southern USA. In fact, there were many areas in Charlotte that had lovely houses. Charlotte is a pretty city all around

Great Vibes of a beatiful restored neighborhood. If you have a car or wish to just walk through the neighbor hood you will not be disapointed.

I loved Freedom Park. Could spend all day there. This one I will avoid. Tight street. No parking. Walking trails are not to be found. The homes are nice but could do that in a car and get it done quicker.

A little gem of a place. Perhaps slightly small to be called a park, but a lovely area of communal lawns and plant beds with some nice water features and an open library box, which we found to be particularly welcoming. We enjoyed our brief walk round and I'd suggest that this would be a great place to enjoy an open air picnic, so long as you are also OK with dogs being walked nearby - which we were & loved, along with the other wildlife e.g. squirrels

Beautifully restored homes along brick lined streets take you back through to Charlotte's past. Quaint neighborhood. There is a park nearby with a wealth of civil war history. There is also a bed and breakfast and a fantastic restaurant that is a culinary must do.

I don't know why everyone is bragging about this small park. Not much to see or do. Walking trails dong exist and parking is a nightmare here.

Visit this area while on my Segway tour. 100 year old homes and trees in the shadow of new Charlotte. This is an interesting place to walk around and see the old houses that have been kept up very well.

This is a surprisingly nice park. It is well manicured and has well maintained children play areas. As with any center city park, you have the occasional whino, but that is to be expected. This is a great stop before or after a visit to Discovery Place or for a stroll during a lunch hour.

The fourth ward is in the downtown area but a world away. The tree lined streets full of houses over 100 years old are peaceful and relaxing. The houses were lovely. The park was so peaceful my husband fell asleep on a bench! There is even a nice tavern for a meal and a drink. If you need maps go to the visitors centre.
