Played Olde Sycamore for the first time yesterday. From the blue tees with 2 other golfers, we played in about 4 hours, looking for many wayward shots. Staff in pro shop and on course were friendly and informative. Tee boxes, fairways and rough were in very good shape. Greens had too many ball marks, but putted true, despite being overwatered... Mud pit. Great staff except for the course superintendent who just doesn't care. Could be a gem but nothing (aerating or vertical cutting) is done to the fairways. Shame. USGA recommends 1/2" or organic matter under the turf. There's at least three on every fairway and in rough areas.

Even for it being December, the course was in great shape. It was wet but there was nothing they could do about that. The layout what challenging and it was a really fun time. Service was friendly and there's not much else you can ask for from a good golf course.

This course is in great condition. The tee boxes groomed without the usual hacked up appearances of other public course. The fairways are wide with enough grass for your ball to sit up. The bunkers have good sand. The greens, while having their share of unfixed ball marks roll true and fast. I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing this course.... More

This was really a nice surprise. Our daughter and her husband recently joined here and invited us to play. What a beautiful setting, great, senior friendly golf course, plenty of challenges for the "big boys," and friendly rates as well. The ninth hole, however, will challenge the best! The course has a very traditional feel that is only given away... More

This is a beautiful course. Unfortunately the rough is 3" high and unplayable. The fairways are slanted and tend to feed to the rough. The greens are bent grass and tend to die quickly so they have to hand water. If, and I mean if, you hit the fairways the course is extremely fair. I won't play it again until... More

Truly a memorable golf course. Green, lush and well maintained. Also I can't say enough about the professionalism and courteousness of the staff. We had a ugly encounter with a group of members and the staff did everything possible to resolve the situation and apologized profusely. Give yourself a treat and play this golf course if you visit Charlotte, NC.

I've played OSGP several times over the last two seasons. I don't think there is a better daily rate course in the area. The course is always in spectacular shape, clubhouse staff is always great, range is wonderful. Can't say enough about the place. It's worth the $$ if you want a quality course and experience.

Olde Sycamore Gold Plantation is the first golf course I have played in North Carolina. It is a beautiful, very challenging course, and well designed out course. You really need to know your yardages, especially if you have never played here. A bit slow play, at times, but not worse than other course situations during weekend play. May become a... More

The course was very tough....a slope rating of 132.....not for beginners, people over 60 or folks out to enjoy a nice round of golf. The staff, including the pros were sullen, not helpful and did not mention that their two washrooms on the course were locked to keep the riff-raff(we know this means b^&*s) out of them. We booked a... More
