The University offers many older and newer buildings with many tree lined walkways and a lot of great maps to guide your visit. Parking is hard to find so be sure to follow local parking signs for good spots at an affordable cost.

This is a beautiful campus! Great place for a walk. So much amazing architecture too! I only spent an hour there, but you could be there much longer!

That is a school that I would have loved to attend. The campus is huge. The hotel on campus is worth the money. Four star all the way.

Absolutely beautiful university! The cobblestone walkways, old greenery, and beautiful gardens exemplify southern charm at its best! We stayed at the Carolina Inn which allowed us quick access to walk about the campus and explore. We especially loved seeing the old well and the arboretum....More

If you want to be a college student, UNC is the place! Great computer science department and Biology Department. It is an open campus which I enjoyed very much. Just walk to Franklin Street and have access to restaurants, coffee shops...etc

Campus tour was filled with beautiful landscape and plenty of history. Don't forget to see and take a photo at the Old Well, which is the symbol of UNC Chapel Hill.

I want to add one more thing - shopping for your son's "domestic" needs, etc. I imagine you will purchase most items on arrival like most from "out of area." There is little shopping in Chapel Hill/Franklin Street walking... More
