We’ve been to Myrtle beach a few times but enjoyed Carolina Beach more. The boardwalk is beautiful. Beaches are clean and always a nice surf to play in. Plenty to do and everything is close. Not over commercialized ! Will definitely be coming back !

We rode bicycles through the park a couple of times on our recent visit to Kure Beach. It is five or six easy miles from Fort Fisher. There is camping, marina, visitor center, kayak and bike rentals, as well as walking trails. People were fishing...More

We dropped in for an afternoon visit and enjoyed the park. We love to hike trails and enjoyed our walk on the trails here. There are nice overlooks of the Cape Fear River.

Carolina Beach State Park has hiking trails, boat ramps, camping, Nature Center, picnic tables, and very informed Park Rangers. This is also a very pet friendly park. You can see what this area looked like before Europeans came to North America. This is a Long...More

We love using the boat launch at the CB State Park! For a annual or daily fee you can access the ramp. Noticed this time around the trailer parking was up the road quite a bit. Thank goodness we got there early to get a...More

We had a fun drive south to the state park. We liked that it was a way from the active beach life. We only walked about a mile due to the thunder storm. It was flat and easy to walk around. We didn't see any...More

Loved this beach it was not over crowded and we really enjoyed the walks in the evening as and the morning. My husband really enjoyed fishing for the pier. We would go back in a sec.

We stayed 2 nights here, enjoyed the visit very much. The park is located in the town of Carolina Beach but you have to drive a few miles to get to ocean access. We played at the beach in nearby Fort Fisher, which is also...More

Went to the state park with our 2 year old today to look at some nature. It was a fun adventure looking at lizards, snakes and crabs. Def must do.

We were there on a rainy and overcast weekend, so not sure what it would be like in prime summer, but the beach is nice and it felt like a family-friendly area. Parking is a premium, so be prepared to walk to the beach.

When we were there the gates were never locked. We went out for dinner and returned around 1am. There were no issues with not being able to get back in.
