My wife and I went in the off season. The ranger gave us a good presentation, though we couldn't climb the lighthouse due to the off-season hours. The museum was good, good information and presentation displays.

The lighthouse was closed for climbing when we visited, but we thoroughly enjoyed the museum. It is truly an engineering feat to learn how the lighthouse was moved.

This island landmark is a "do not miss" for first-time and repeat visitors. Interesting historical info in the museum and a fantastic photo opp.

It was a windy day when we went to the lighthouse and almost deserted save for two others. I got some great pics to remember it by. I loved learning about it at my own pace. We also stopped at the little sailor's cemetery near...More

Seems that it is not fully staffed in the off season so you can’t climb to the top of the lighthouse. We were disappointed- the grounds themselves otherwise were nicely kept but not much else to see...

We went in November and you can't go up then (not enough staffing for the light tourist season). There weren't a lot of people there but the beach had plenty. There is a nice gift shop and you can go on the beach. Popular spot...More

You’ll get a killer workout getting to the top, but the view is beyond worth it! Take your time and look out the windows as you ascend, it makes it more exciting and less leg cramping! Don’t forget your camera and to leave time to...More

Went on Veterans Day to a National monument and the lighthouse itself was closed off because they don’t have enough staff in the off season. They have enough to keep the gift shop going...

This is a fabulous lighthouse to visit, run by the National Parks. However, a couple of things make my review only "very good." First, the lighthouse is closed for climbing a large portion of the year (which we knew in advance). Second, which we didn't...More

Hi Marta - Go to the "Double Lightkeeper's House" - on the 1st floor, in an air-conditioned small theater, they show a movie on demand which has a young park ranger walking from the bottom to the top of the light-house... More

My sister who is a 9 year old was barley able to climb it. (Or she was a nine year old) I think that only your 6 year old could come. Idk exactly, but I don’t think anyone older than 5 can come.
