Well worth the visit!

We took the day train ride that was a total of about four hours long. We passed a lot of beautiful scenery. It seems long but we never got bored and the kids had a lot of fun. We stopped at an outdoor adventures center and were able to explore a little.

The Polar Express needs to make some very much needed improvements. The train ride was a disappointment. This is geared for small kids and their imaginary world. Disney consultant can help them improve the quality of the experience.

We booked the Carolina Moonshine Experience. We were in a car that was Adults only. It was nicely furnished. We had plenty of room and good views. The seating allowed for people to visit and get to know one another. It was a couple of hours for the tour. Great scenery. We had lunch with dessert served to us. The... More

not quite what I was expecting the scenery was somewhat boring, I was expecting mountains.... the layover in Dillsboro was a little disappointing also. If you love trains the Lionel Train Museum in town could be of interest

We took the family on the GSMR raft and rail package and it was excellent. The boys didn't care much for the site seeing on the way up but the rafting woke them up! We did this trip on 2015 and look forward to doing it again some time. It all starts at the depot in Bryson City, boarding the... More

Beautiful small town. The train depot has several hot dog/burgers places, a train museum, and a store for souvenirs. Everything is within walking distance to train depot. There are some nice restaurants very close. We ate at the Italian place and enjoyed it. (Only one in town) Train has a beautiful vintage look. The cars had numbered signs so that... More

This was terrible. There wasn't anything scenic about it. Tickets are ridiculous and our waitress was terrible. Train ride was boring. Train goes like 5 mph and it felt like the train ride was never ending. I don't recommenf this at all.

So if you have small children then they would have really enjoyed it. But for adults the ride was barely ok. The "scenic" views were of rusted out machinery, burnt out camper trailer, and a mobile home park. The "North Pole" were simply houses that had all the same lights as decorations. The coco scene from the movies was just... More

Took my grandchildren and their parents - 18 of us - for the lunch adventure from Bryson City to Dillsboro pulled with a steam locomotive. Beautiful scenery along the river and an hour to wander around Dillsboro. Food was good and the staff was very attentive. Great adventure for families..
