There is a great view at a small fee, must say this is quite misleading to the public though! Was very clean and nice gift shop. Staff were also very kind and helpful.

The view from here was breathtaking! We came on an extremely cold day so we only spent a short time outside for photo ops, but you can see far, far away. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The gift shop had really cute items. We will return when the temp isn't below zero with wind chill factor!

We arrived at 4:30, and they would not let us see the rock because they close at 5:00. BUT IT WAS 4:30! We didn't even want a tour, just wanted to see it, and it was literally 5 ft from the entrance! Traveled 1000 miles from Florida, only to be turned away.

The legend of Blowing Rock was interesting. The site, not so much. This is just a tourist trap with a steep fee to walk out and look at a view of a rock overlooking the valley.

Our first trip to Blowing Rock and it did not disappoint! We had traveled through NC several times but never actually visited it. The wind was blowing about 25 mph and the temperature was 37 degrees, yikes..it was very cold, but the views are beautiful. The cost of admission was $7 (just for informational purposes). We do travel a lot... More

My husband and I were staying at Gideon Ridge Inn which is just around the corner from The Blowing Rock. We went on an extremely foggy day so it was half price, $5 a person. We were greeted and assisted by the sweetest woman who sold us our tickets, directed us where to go and what to see. The actual... More
