Great horse trails

The trails were well maintained and offered great views. The house was nice and had a gift shop with interesting items. The porch offered amazing views and seating for a rest.

Had I been in charge of building the Blue Ridge Parkway, I would have demolished this place in spite of its history. It looks like the Baldwin sisters house on the Waltons and it just might fall down on its own without extensive maintenance. Rest rooms are in a separate building. There is a ramp down from the parking lot... More

Good place for a stroll and to tour and older mansion. The history of Moses Cone is very interesting as well as the house he built right before his death. Great local crafts are for sale in the gift shop and the tour is most interesting. There are also miles of walking and horse trails on the property.

My wife, our five month old in a stroller enjoyed and I enjoyed a 2 1/2 mile hike through the trails at the flat top manner The trails are clean well marked and we met quite a few nice people along the way The flat top manners also conveniently located straight off the Blue Ridge Parkway which adds a lot... The house is very attractive from a distance, but is always in need of some repair to the exterior. As others noted, there is nothing worth seeing inside except the many crafts that are sold there - all of which are pricey. The grounds are attractive, as well and worth strolling around. VERY crowded during weekends in leaf season in... More

The house is a nice old Historic House on a huge Estate with great views of the river. You can sit on the porch and enjoy the views. Like many others throughout the south. Inside was nothing to see but local craft works in dozens of little sections for each person - also similar to what we have seen in... More

Nice view of the mountains from the foyer/porch area. It is located on the Blue Ridge Parkway around Milepost 294. It's definitely nice to stop and enjoy the view

This house and land will take you back in time. Just to stand on the front porch takes your mind back to a different period in history. The house is AMAZING. The view is heavenly. I can't imagine ever living here. I wanted to bring my daughter in law back in her wedding dress just so I could make a... More

While on the Pkwy, we saw the sign and decided to stop and see what this place could be about. While there's not a whole lot going on, there are some lovely views of the surrounding area. The bass pond view was lovely. The house looks a little worse for wear but is still a charming landmark. I wouldn't go... More
