We started out from a parking lot which crosses a bridge. This is not for beginners and you should be intermediates with hiking boots and a walking stick. Lots of rocks and roots which traverses up and down and follows a stream which you cross...More

We walked the trail around the lake. It was flat and easy to walk. There were some places where it wasn't paved so it was a little wet and muddy. It's a nice place to take a mountain walk without walking up the mountains!

This is a very easy level walking path with a scenic lake and wooded area. Easy to find on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

We stopped for a view of the lake and photo taking opportunity. It was serine and peaceful. If we had more time we would have stayed longer!

We had a group of 18 meet here for a picnic. We spent about 4 hours here. First tip would be to get there early if the weather is nice. The park fills up fast, but never felt crowded. We got there at 10 and...More
