Very attractive downtown with unique shops, a park, restaraunts, banks and even a vet. Slow down and remember "the good ole days". Lively events on Friday nights during the summer and holidays. Good access to Belmont Abbey, Cramerton and its famous Goat Island, Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens, and Mount Holly.

A nice stroll up and down Main Street, with lovely old homes and interesting buildings at the northern end, but the town has fewer stores to browse through than we were led to believe from their town web site. We had expected to spend more leisure time in town, but didn't find enough to hold our interest after lunch.

Didn't even know there was a "historic" district until I saw it listed here. I had hoped to find a historic town - expected Belmont to be such. There are a few nice old homes, but the town does nothing to play up, or enhance, its historic presence.

Best small downtown with lots of events. Charming, walkable, friendly. Real downhome feel. Cute Mill home bungalows.

Very nice place to walk around and browse. There are many shops and places to eat in addition to a wonderful park for kids to run around in.

Our town is fabulous with a vibrant Main Street full of shops and restaurants. A beautiful park on Main Street sets off the beauty and this small town has plans for improvement! Check out the website and see all the charm past, present and future.

Belmont is a nice little town that is very supportive of having a bike race. A lot of people came out to spectate and cheer, and it was great. Every person I talked to was very nice and polite, which always makes going to a race more pleasant. The downtown has lots of nice shops and things to see, would... More
