We got there about 6am hoping to catch a sunrise. Not only was it a gorgeous sunrise, we shared it with a few dozen wild horses and cows! Definitely worth the trip! Quiet, peaceful and beautiful!

Beautiful undisturbed marsh, waterways, and forest. Great birding for shore birds, waterfowl, even a few Bald Eagles. Good hiking, fishing and boating. There are wild horses along Cedar Island beach. Good swimming but there are occasional stinging nettles along the beach. (Jelly Fish)

never thought I would ever get to see a herd of wild horses, roaming free with very little human interference . these horses ancestry from spanish sailing vessels hundreds of years ago, still roam free, by a government protection act.

Love this beach for kiteboarding on NE winds . Also great for windsurfing or just laying out on the beach . Very secluded never seems to be crowded

It is a beach along the waters edge it is hard packed to ride at least it was several years ago when we did . Otherwise there are horses to ride . Enjoy the quiet scenery especially if you are coming from the city . Enjoy !
