In addition to their wonderful and exciting exhibits. The give the best fundraiser once a year. The staff is friendly. They do have a parking lot and a gift shop. During the school day they provide workshops for children.

A nice mixture of art, history, science. Great old mansion, newish planetarium, and both a good permanent Hudson River School collection and fun temporary shows.

I've been to this museum many times. The permanent collection is fine but the temporary exhibitions really shine. They are interesting and always well presented. Check out what is current at the museum. You won't be disappointed.

We were visiting family in Yonkers and had a little time so we spent an hour or so at the HRM. It was worth seeing, though I wouldn't go out of my way for it. We were there at the wrong time (weekday) for the planetarium and didn't get to see it. We also didn't see the Glenview mansion. Perhaps... More

We saw the latest Red Grooms exhibit. It is comprised of a life-sized set of figures greeting President Lincoln's train stop. You can walk among the figures. Then, in a separate room, there are dozens of folk-art paintings by Grooms all about the Civil War. In contrast are many photographs of Civil War people. Great fun for adults and kids.

I wished I had discovered this place earlier. After looking for something to do on a nice late winter weekend, I saw that this place was only 25 minutes away from me, had great reviews and the prices were very reasonable. We decided to go at about 1:30 PM on a Saturday. After getting off Cross County Parkway and driving... More
