A Gift to the City

Russell Salvatore, local businessman and philanthropist, paid for this park to honor military personnel, first responders, and local people that perished in disasters. It is a very interesting park. I happened upon it on my morning walk. It has very detailed and striking exhibits. If you have the time you should visit.

As a retired career military member, I was very impressed with this park honoring the military. What a beautiful tribute.

When traveling on Transit Road this is a beautiful site you need to stop and see. It is truly worth your time. It highlights some of the major memorials and landmark sites in the United States. Including the tragic flight #3407 which crashed in suburban Clarence, WWII Battle of the Bulge, 9/11, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and more. Best of all it is free!

An unusual find but quite well done

Russell Salvatore, the owner of the hotel across the street, commissioned an artist to design 5 motife's, each showing an element of patriotic US history. Of course there is also Mr Salvatore's statue, and his mausolem where he will eventually be buried! A little over the top but nicely done.

We were very surprised by how well kept and interesting this little park was. We saw it lit up on the way back to our hotel and decided to stop, so glad we did.

Interesting by weird

Nice idea - odd location. Would be better in an actual park than right of off a busy road. Seems to be more of a tribute to the guy who paid for it, than the actual subjects of the memorial. Kitchzy. Nice to walk through on a warm evening (lighted trees, music).

Worth a look
Jun. 2019 • Couples
We were staying at the Tru by Hilton hotel nearby and noticed it on our way out for the day. It looked like it was finished within the last 2 years by a foundation set up by Russell Salvatore. It had tributes to Flight 3407 which crashed nearby in 2009, 9/11 memorial, WW II Battle of the Bulge memorial in honor of a local man who died there, and a tribute to America among other things. But it seemed to be also promoting how great and generous Mr. Salvatore was to donate this prime piece of real estate and pay for all these memorials and set up a foundation to take care of its maintenance. Too many mentions of his name among the tributes in my opinion. A humble man would not have mentioned his name so many times!

Well presented for respect and pondering!

It is not a big park and should not take more than half an hour to go through but it does bring on a sense of patriotism and even a touch of sadness! Worth a visit if in the area!
