First off when we arrived at the Sugar Shack the owner had just closed and was on her way to town. She dropped her mail and opened up the store to give us a personal taste test of her syrups!!! 33 in all and with ice cream. Needless to say each one was awesome and we bought 10 bottles for... More

We were visiting the Wine Trail and called to check if they're open (odd operating hours, especially in the winter season). The lady who answered said they weren't but that she would come into the shop if we let her know when we would arrive. The shop is right next door to the home and so the owner and her... More

Amazing little find on our way down to Erie! Walked away with her book and several jars of complete yumminess! Definitely recommended stop along the way!

Great little place to see. Syrups were amazing and owner very friendly. Went back twice. Can't see if from the road but don't miss going there.

Gail Black has created a unique little Shop on her property on the lake in Westfield NY. She boasts a lengthy list of her home made fruit syrups made from fruits she grows on this historic property on the Lake Erie coast. This shop is a great place to buy unique gifts of local origins.

Gail is cool and very generous with the samples, and her syrups (fruit and maple) are SO GOOD. There was also a really neat selection of local and raw honey. It's the very best of what a small agricultural place has to offer- home-grown, quality product and an emphasis on personal interaction.

How can you not give the Sugar Shack 10-stars? The day we stopped by, we found Gail, the proprietor, under a tractor...yeah...I'm pretty sure she's in her 70's! She hopped up, rounded up her granddaughter, and opened up the Sugar Shack for us to sample some of her awesome syrups. My favorite? Blueberry-lemon! We also purchased her book, "A$@#! &... More

Gail is very nice and welcoming, and we had a wonderful time doing syrup tasting at the shop. She even offered a tour oat her farm. Her maple syrup is one of the best one I have ever had. Their elderberry syrup goes extremely well with plain yogurt. We high recommend everyone to stop by Sugar Shack if you are... More

The owner, Gail, is a wonderful, warm and gracious woman! She was so proud of her products and offered us samples of her delicious fruit syrups. She has a wonderful sense of humor and her outlook on life is heart-warming! She wrote her memoir which is for sale in the store. Her story of courage and perseverance is remarkable. This... More

This is a quaint spot right on Lake Erie. There is a small gift shop at the end of the driveway, in the middle of a beautiful grape farm. There are all kinds of maple and fruit syrups, mustards, pancake mixes, maple popcorn is a favorite of mine. You can have a tasting of all her syrups over vanilla ice... More
