Second time I`ve been here this year: first time for an excellent lunch and yesterday (9th March) with a pack of dogs and assorted dog-walkers we sat outside in the sunshine, ordered drinks and sandwiches which were brought out to us with a big welcoming smile. And the dogs were offered water which was much appreciated. Highly recommended!

I ran from the Clachan of Campsie up to the cairns at the top in my youth. I came back after 25 years away and was sadden by the amount of litter everywhere. The top carpark is a disgrace with litter strewn all over the fields and walk areas - even with litter bins around. The walk to the cairns... More

After being away for 30 or so yrs I took the urge to visit. Unspoilt and the woods and waterfall has not changed. Beutiful countryside. The main building has been renovated where there are shops, cafe, and info area. The grave yard has been tidied up. When I was a kid some of the burial grounds were open. A very old... More

Lovely area and readily accessible to walkers. A faultline runs through this region with a number of features including the Ballagan Beds: interspaced limestone-mudstone layers which have been exposed by erosion from the running glen water. More info can be found via the Glasgow Geological Society.

We had a really nice walk and then an amazing drive. We absolutely fell in love with the landscape. Definitely worth visiting.

We enjoyed a good a good quality coffee and tea stop at the end of our walk along the kelvin. The walk along the old railway line from Kirkintilloch to here was glorious and we'll maintained. Staff friendly. Didn't go further up the Glen so can't comment on the litter.

Walk up to the waterfall... in the snow...breathe fresh air...and enjoy the sound of water over stone! A lone bird calls...the wind sighs in the trees...but nothing else cuts the silence... in moonlight look over the mist drifting in the valley floor and dream the dreams of clan heads of history long past! Magical place... enjoy!
