We drove past Yanchep Lagoon Beach today to take a few photos. The sun was out, a little bit of wind which brought in some surf, and the white sands. We were lucky enough to see a dolphin swimming a few metres behind the waves. Lovely spot, would visit again.

Staying 20km south at Mindarie so this is not too much of a drive, although European drivers will find the road frustratingly slow with changing speed limits and we even spotted a hidden mobile camera on Good Friday :-( The sea was a bit rough on the day we visited, with a swell that wasn't conducive for snorkelling - which... Quite safe for children. I took my niece and her mother there once and they loved it. Loved every minute of it, I means. The water was generally calm. We went beach fishing and received a friendly reminder from the guard to only fish in designated places - they pointed us the flag. Really wanted to catch abalone but that... More

The Lagoon usually offers good swimming and snorkelling in a safe environment, however it is "natural" so is governed by nature. It is worth a visit for the magnificent vista, there is ample parking,a Cafe and shower and toilet facilities close by. A new building has sprung up on the foreshore, apparently it is to be a lifesaving/surf club but the builder has... More

What an amazing sheltered safe spot for the whole family. Well guarded by the local life guards small coffee n cake shop across the way. In my opinion it needs a licence luncheon café with opening hours for romantic dinners. Other than that a real hidden gem in Yanchep

Overseas visitors keep coming every year here! The only thing that gets bad reviews is Wanneroo's lack of dog-beach versus NON dog-beach signposting, with dog excrements lining the beach access staircase. NOT good!

Lovely place for a swim and, very safe for young Children. Good fishing on beach next to lagoon or off reef at back. Totally safe with lifeguards. Take your lunch, Cafe too expense. Local Shire still working on access, so it's a bit of a mess.

The shallow water and lack of any sudden drop off close inshore, plus the protection afforded by the reef, particularly at low tide, makes this a good place for young children to play and have fun. Also not a bad place for anyone who is unsure of themselves in water.

The water was beautiful, crystal clear and not much wavey. It is quite popular for whole family to spend a day there. It may be quite windy in the afternoon. Better to go in the morning if the temperature and time is suitable (and less crowded).
