I love animals and nature but found the price of getting there, $206 for 2 adults, coming by Ferry from Perth dear. Yes, the quokka's are adorable, and the island lovely, but I had a better time walking on the beach at Cottesloe. That said,...More

We had a great trip to Rottnest. It was lovely to see the Quokkas. They are very sweet and very friendly. The island itself is very interesting and easy to get around with the local bus. We were only there for about 4 hours which...More

The quokkas are on everyone's agenda (it was definitely on mine!) but do make sure of the free walking tours that are available. Great way to learn about the island and its wildlife. We found the guides very knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed the tours.

You need more than one day to do the island justice. Getting a selfie isn’t as easy as it sounds but you can get plenty of great photos. Watch out for all the cyclists as many of them have interesting interpretations of how you should...More

We visited mainly to experience beautiful beaches and see the Quokkas. They were completely unafraid of humans and so cute. We took the hop on hop off bus passed a point where sea lions and 3 humpback whales were present. We ate fish and chips...More

The island here has a unique and unmatched beauty and all the wildlife from the quokkas to osprey and New Zealand fur seals. I would definitely recommend a visit to this slice of heaven on Perth’s doorstep. The volunteers are good but it is a...More

August is the winter season so less llikely to be dry but I don't think there is a lot of rainfall, and temperatures are still pleasant, possibly more suited for activities like cycling. More detailed info about the weather... More

Most people we spoke to got around and had a good look around the island. Sometimes they run a later boat, so if you check when you arrive you can opt for this but you need to check at the visitor section on the island.
