Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This beachfront has a huge stretch of grassed bank whereby you can sit, picnic or just watch the water. Shops line the opposite side of the road so there is a huge array of choices for meals and drinks.

This beach area is part of the Cockburn Sound and as such is a very protected body of water which is safe for swimming.

You will always find families and large groups taking advantage of this fantastic area.

Amazing beach! I actually liked this better than the other beach I recently reviewed. Unlike the other beach I went to with the sunlight view, I went here by myself for lots of fun. I basically created sandcastles, did some swimming and kept cool with sunsmart safety tools. As mentioned in the other beach review I made, the sunglasses were mandatory for us because we were students going on a trip and we needed to keep safe. I managed to remove the glasses to enjoy the view for some time before I was found not using them and they forced me to wear them for the rest of the trip. They weren't required for me this time but I decided that I should use them and I also had a lifeguard jacket of my own to wear along with it. I found it fun to wear the equipment. This beach was perfect.

Rockingham Beach is a great spot to spend a day or even a couple of hours.
You can walk the boardwalk or path along the beach, swim, picnic in the park or sit in one of the many cafes and restaurants and enjoy a coffee, fish and chips or meal.
Either way a great day out will be had by all ages.

We have been to stay here a number of times and always used the beach and sea as it is safe for our grandson. Sand is beautiful, gently shelving water, nice backdrop. Unfortunately this time the sea has been full of jellyfish all week. Can't be helped I know but a pity.

Came here to relax/dry off after a dolphin swim and found it to be a wonderful beach. There's a good selection of cafes and restaurants across the road, as well as a children's playground and deck lounges for the adults to rest on, all with a lovely view of the beach. Would come here again.

It was quite a nice and very long beach to stroll around. We started around the pier and walked through Churchill Park and back along the beach. The sand was quite fine so it was nice to walk along it. The views of the sea were interesting since it looked like a port area with plenty of large ships and cranes. The beach was quite clean so it was quite pleasant. It was surprising to see a yacht on shore and it looked like it had shipwrecked there. It was something you don't see every day.
There were also a few newish looking developments on the edge of the beach to sit and sunbathe or play on the play area on the Boardwalk/Pier side of the beach.

This beach is clean and the water calm. Went for many early morning and evening walks, just perfect. Cafes across the road, grab a coffee and just walk or find a nice spot to just sit and watch the world go by.

The Foreshore is an excellant beach area. Lovely sandy beaches, plenty of space with shady areas. Plenty of food outlets and bard. Lovely calm clear water with chance of seeing a dolphin

Compared to other Australian beaches this is nothing special

Their is a good playground if you have children, the water is also quite shallow for some distance so again good for kids

The restaurants/cafes nearby are all overpriced with a poor unhealthy selection, I in fact couldn't find anything to eat so we left!

I wouldn't go out of your way to visit this beach
