Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Arrived just before closing time but the kind lady switched the lights on again in the museum. So many sewing machines!! Had a good laugh when I found my current Bernina machine there!! I bought it in 1971.. Also one similar to the one I learnt to sew on in 1953.. Also a great store full of yarn and fabrics and other bris-a-brac.

This is a little shop in a little town but the service is friendly and interesting to potter about. Some odds and ends and a bit of craft here and there. I guess what put it apart from the ordinary was all the old sewing machines in the rear of the store . Cute as I still remember my grandmothers treadley sewing machine.

This shop is reminiscent of of the old emporiums that were the lifeblood of many towns in years past. Here you will find items of clothing, millinery, footwear, books, haberdashery, souvenirs etc. At the rear of the store there is a room dedicated as a sewing machine museum. Fascinating development over the years. The old Singer similar to one used by my grandmother 60 odd years ago.

There is an air of yesteryear about the store. The lady we met has familia knowledge of the town and history. There is a small section set aside for last century sewing machines. You don’t need to sew to appreciate the turn of the century machines made with great skills. The wood work alone can appreciated. The shop itself has a great selection of men’s boots, real Aussie acubras and work cloths. The bits and bobs were there for the ladies.
Worth a look and an experience to visit.

Wandering through the store was a great experience. But the big surprise was the display of sewing machines. As a collector myself I would rate this display as world class, and you can view it for a gold coin donation.

From gifts to clothing and bric a brac this country store is fascinating to browse if not for purchasing that gift with a difference. Friendly staff and an eclectic collection means you’ll probably find something you can use.

Amazing collection of crank and treadle sewing machines from all ages and countries. This museum is housed in the Old Family Store, which is another bit of history for the area!
