Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We did not know what to expect as we drove to this location, but we were surprised by the beauty of the forest.

The tranquil waters in the afternoon sunlight were fantastic. The history of area, the reference to Adam Lindsay Gordon.

We also saw the remnants of the bridge made from one tree.

The "original" one tree bridge site is located on the north side of the road, and is represented by an old log, there is a new suspension walk bridge on the south side of the road to get from one side to the other you have a walk trail next to the river under the road. Associated with this site is bar-be-que areas, toilets and a short walk to Glenoran Pool

If you are in the area of Manjimup the One Tree Bridge is worth looking at. We were both very impressed as to the size of the single tree which had bee felled and dropped the entire width of Donnelly River and made into a bridge for horses and carts.
It no longer spans the river but has been deposited next to the bank.
We found it tricky to find and were on the verge of giving up when my husband spotted a small sign. You actually need to go past the new suspension walking bridge and go underneath the road. The path then leads you to the One Tree Bridge. This is also the place from which you start the walk to The Four Aces.

Where the car park is situated is where the new suspension bridge over the Donnelly River is located (limit of 4 people). There is also an Information board of the area here. A pathway under the river leads to the other side where remnants of the original One Tree Bridge is. Lots of birds about when we arrived in the morning.

We did this as we walked along the walking trails from the Four Aces. Seeing how the first bridge was made is quite amazing. I certainly learnt a lot just by doing this little walk and stopping to read the information along the way.

The shire has put a bit of time in to promote this spot and it is worth the visit. Anew walking bridge helps and the pond area is just so relaxing.

What a great bridge. A lovely little walk and so much has been done to make it worth a visit. We loved it.

It's been a couple of years since I first visited this historic site, a once proud achievement of the local timber industry and workers whereby they felled one tree and created a river crossing using the trunk as the main bridging structure on which a deck was built. This was eventually replaced and relocated to a nearby clearing, fenced off and left to rot away in contemptof the history it represents.
The site is overgrown, poorly maintained (if at all) and the decking has collapsed. I took visiting friends to see this recently and was appalled at the decline in the past 2 years, and embarrassed at offering it up as a tourist attraction to those friends. In the interim, a suspension walking bridge has been installed beside the traffic bridge and as part of the Bibbulmun Track and Munda Biddi Trail and this is a wonderful addition for all, not just ardent walkers. What a pity that some extra effort isn't being given to the One Tree Bridge itself, but I fear it's too late.

We camped up the road at Green Island camp site. Then walked along the track the few km to the one tree bridge. The walk was lovely and there were some great natural bridges made of fallen trees across the river. These I would recommend walking up to, just follow the track up river. The one tree bridge was only a section in the old bridge with little information and right next to the busy road.

I wouldn't suggest going out of your way to come here simply to see One Tree Bridge, but if you're driving between Manjimup and Nannup and are taking Graphite Rd, it can be worth stopping in here.

There is a small parking area, and a toilet block, with running water. The original "One Tree Bridge" is no longer in use, and is located some distance away from the new bridge. It's fenced off, and has an information sign, and quite honestly you're not likely to spend much more than 5 minutes looking at it. But it is an interesting part of the history of the place.

Fortunately there are other things to see here. The new bridge is quite nice, and it is a picturesque spot to enjoy the river.

The Bibbulmun track also comes through this spot, so if you enjoy hiking, that may be an additional reason you'd want to come here. For mountain bikers, there's the Munda Biddi trail that passes through here. The stretch between One Tree Bridge and Donnelly Village is widely regarded as one of the best and most fun stretches of the Munda Biddi trail, so that is reason alone to come here, if you enjoy mountain biking. I parked here at One Tree Bridge and then spent the day biking to Donnelly Village and back, and mountain biking doesn't get much better, with some very fun singletrack, and stunning scenery and trees.

So while the One Tree Bridge alone doesn't offer much on its own, if combined with other activities it can be worth stopping here. The Glenoran Pool and Four Aces are only a kilometre away too, so you can certainly visit all three to get more mileage out of your visit, and I'd recommend doing that if you're driving through and have the time. My rating is based on a combination of all the above - it is a beautiful area, and if time permits you to do some of these other things in addition to the One Tree Bridge, it can make for an enjoyable outing.
