We met the boat at the jetty near the memorial. Grant pulled it onto the sand and let the front down to make access easy even for those of us who had a little difficulty walking. We did the twilight cruise and it was delightful from start to finish. Grant gave us a commentary based on his local knowledge. He was extremely witty as well as informative. As it was a high tide and a beautiful evening we were able to travel up the river to where it flows through Murchison Station with its goats. It was a perfect evening with kangaroos and emus and goats on the riverbanks, dolphins leaping alongside the boat, pelicans flying above us and gulls so used to the boat they were taking food from our hands. All was topped off by a beautiful sunset that looked like a volcano erupting behind the cloud formation. Thankyou Grant and partner it was a joy!

This was our second time on the cruise - going on Christmas Eve last year and again this year. We'd done other sunset cruises in Kalbarri but I personally found the ocean ones a little too rough so I love this cruise up the river. Its smooth and lots to see with the Goats, Kangaroos, Sea Eagles, the sunset along with informative commentary. Grant is a great skipper and barman and after last year we bought back more friends to experience it. At 2.5hrs its great value for money and they will even organise to have your preferred drinks on board if you contact them in advance and the drinks were a really reasonable price too. Highly recommended!

We have been on this cruise and it's fantastic. It's worth every dollar. We booked online this time and we were extremely happy with prompt reply and receipt of purchase. The Wilderness Cruise was everything we had hoped for and more on New Years Eve. Great hosts, who were very attentive and informative. It is a very relaxing 2 hour cruise. The tea, coffee, and Milo is complimentary but there also licenced bar.

We were treated to some fabulous funny commentry onboard. On a beautiful warm
night a nice cool breeze is very refreshing.
We loved every moment and will do this
trip again as the hosts make it very easy
for you to relax and enjoy every moment.
You will not be disappointed. You will be rewarded with a fantastic sunset at the end and endless photo opportunities.

We went in a group of 8, including 3 pensioners. Price was a little steep, only a discount of $2 for those on concession, Companion Card not recognised (normally free entry for CC holders) does come with a free hot drink and a biscuit. There is an onboard bar but that is extra $$$
Did wonder if it would be cancelled as it had rained on and off during the day.
As it was a high tide we were able to go as far up the river as the boat could go, about an hours ride. Got a low down on the Rock Lobster industry and saw some roos and sea birds.
Did see some of the river you wont by car,
The cruise out was smooth sailing and the sun was out going out, however on the way back the weather had turned for the worst.
Most on board got drenched while we endured the hour long cruise back into town, but not too choppy. Needs to get drop down blinds to protect passengers, or have blankets on board for protection, myself and my daughter tried to huddle under a jacket sitting on the outside I got thoroughly soaked.
Little to nothing to see on way back, could have been because of the weather conditions? Nothing was highlighted like it was on the way out
Advise if its been raining that day take some raincoats with you, or put of for a day if you can.

Dear walker65, We are very saddened to hear that you did not enjoy your cruise and would have liked if you gave us the opportunity and discussed this with us at the time. We do explain that commentary is provided on the way down, in regards to a companion card - we are a private business and unfortunately the government does not subsidise our ticket price, unlike public transport. Our drinks are a set at a very reasonable rate. (ice cold beers are a mere $6), so we are not sure where your four dollar signs are in reference to. We believe that this big upset here is the weather, unfortunately is the is far beyond our control and the weather came out of no-where towards the end of the trip ( it was not forcast) no-one was expecting the rain. I guess in this case you can't please everyone, but please if you ever return to Kalbarri, we are more than happy to offer you a free trip for yourself in the future. Kind regards Grant

What a brilliant summer evening, cruising the magical Murchison aboard Kalbarri Wilderness Cruises at sunset.. Grant and Tracy were amazing hosts, very friendly and warm. A very friendly welcome aboard before the bar opened and Grant was let loose with his very entertaining commentary as we cruised up the Into the magnificent Murchison Station and passed Castle Rock. A few times he went off script which was highly entertaining and got everyone onboard involved and laughing along.. there were plenty of opportunities spotting the wildlife as they followed alongside the boat on the banks of the river and in the air and then in awe at the abundance of bush tucker and other flora spotted along the way. Finishing with the money-shot of the sun setting on the horizon, a magical finish to a brilliant evening summer cruise, Thank you Grant and Tracy for such a great evening.

Sometimes you stumble upon an absolute gem, a true combination of professionalism, laid back, corny and informative.
Our family of 4 (two teenagers), all thoroughly enjoyed our early morning cruise with Grant and Tracy. A leisurely 2.5 hour steady cruise up the Murchison to see the gorgeous sandstone formations and so much wildlife. Complimentary tea, coffee and milk along with a timtam was a bonus for our 8am departure (due to weather conditions).
We had 2 stops which gave us up close and personal experiences with Castle rock and chasing goats!
You MUST do this when in Kalbarri.

What a wonderful informative fun morning. Such value for money Grant was soo much fun and the other lady (sorry I don’t know her name) was so friendly. Lovely to see used ropes from cray pots turned into beautiful mats. Just loved all the beautiful coloured goats.

I really enjoyed this boat trip. Grant was great at keeping everyone entertained with his humour but also provided really good explanations around the ecology of the area. A good way to see the tail end of the Murchison River and give the legs a rest after hiking and seeing the gorges in Kalbarri National Park. Highly recommend.

Cap’n Grant told us many Kalbarri secrets that we swore would never leave the boat.
The tour was not only interesting and informative, but Grant was passionate about the area and the eco system. He was articulate and humorous making the trip enjoyable, even the seaward part

The cruise was a great way to end our holiday at Kalbarri. Grant was a top skipper and host and provided an informative and light hearted overview of the Murchinson river and Kalbarri in general. His assistant also did a great job of ensuring everyone had a drink from the bar if they wanted. Highly recommended.
