Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice trail but I still haven’t seen the mushroom. Rainbow Valley itself was pretty good and the walk takes you right down to the ocean rocks. Very nice way to spend a couple of hours.

Not sure what is so exciting about this place? Can come up with many similar places if willing to put a road and car part in and be creative. Maybe had been to too many similar places already today. Right next to Red Bluff.

You can either do a loop walk here that is nearly 2 km or you can just walk the first 300m and on your right you will see the mushroom rocks, they look pretty cool! It’s an easy bitumen drive in, we parked our caravan here.

Going south from Kalbarri along Red Bluff Rd after 7km you will find the sign for Mushroom Rock. The car park is at the end of Mushroom Rd. At the car park begins the Mushroom Rock Nature Trail, a medium difficulty loop of about 1.5 km. Having already walked this trail a few years ago we have limited, as most visitors do, the visit to the stretch to and from Mushroom Rock. This short stretch is of medium-low difficulty and allows you to descend to the rocks facing the sea. Even though the high waves crashing on the rocks made it difficult to get close, we got great photos of Mushroom Rock. This mushroom-shaped rock is the result of water and wind erosion on the layered sandstone of these cliffs. Due to the rough sea and the strong wind we did not see any birds but, during the climb we met a kangaroo that fearful remained at a safe distance. A short but interesting visit.

A good 3km loop walk from the car park. Take you down to the rocky outcrop on ocean and up to the top of the cliff. Beautiful scenery and rock formations. Should not get lost with the posted signage.
Have a look at my photos.

It took us 2 hours to do the full circuit, stopping along the way to look at the weird and wonderful rock formations. Lots of rock pools with crabs and breaking waves at the halfway point.

The first half of this walk doesn't really have much to offer but mushroom rock is cool and a great photo opportunity. Just needs a little more signage about where mushroom rock actually is and what created it.

Another great natural phenomenon in WA. Plenty of parking and the walk looks a bit steep, but it’s really not. Worth the walk to this interesting formation.
