Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hawk's Head was one of our favourite places in Kalbarri National Park. It is a little bit less visited than some of the bigger spots like Z Bend and Nature's Window but we absolutely loved it. Like the nearby Ross Graham Lookout, it is very peaceful and quiet with stunning views of the river below. It is a short drive off the main road through the National Park but the road is good and there is a car park at the trialhead.
A very easy walk to the lookout point over the river, perfect peace and quiet ensured. Loved it.

This is one of two viewpoint stops you can make along the south entrance to Kalbarri National Park. You'll find a small carpark area, public toilet and a short 200 metre walk to a viewpoint down into the valley below.
The views are really nice in the evening with the sun at your back. We spotted kangaroos down by the riverbank as well as three black-flanked rock wallabies in the rock pile just below and to the right side of the viewing deck.
Overall a nice little spot to visit along with the nearby Ross Graham Lookout just a short distance away.

There are a number of good lookouts in the Kalbarri National Park to view the Murchison from high up, including Hawks Head.
Its only about 35KMs from the Kalbarri town site and accessible by sealed road, unlike Nature's Window and Z Bend. You literally park and walk less than 100m to the lookout. There's toilet facility available and a picnic spot.
Entry into the National Park costs AUD12 per car using the honesty system....you place the money in the envelope at the unmanned entrance.
The Hawks Head lookouts can be done on your way in or out of Kalbarri. Remember to bring along flynet to keep those pesky flies from you face or keep reapplying insect repellent.
In October, most of the plants were flowering, so the drive to lookout was very colorful.

The National Park was fantastic with the wild flowers in abundance. The views were worth the walk but not for the less active

This is quite a drive from the town of Kalbarri, and much further than the Loop and Z-Bend. Fortunately the Ross Graham Lookout is located very close to the Hawk's Head Lookout, so we figured it is worth driving here to see both. Unlike the other inland gorges, it's basically paved road all the way here, so it's easier on your car as well. There's not a lot here, aside from a small picnic area, and a lookout, which is only a short walk from the parking area. The views here are stunning though, because the lookout is right at the top of the gorge itself. In fact, I liked the views of the gorge here at Hawk's Head more than the views at Ross Graham. However there is no access to the bottom of the gorge from here, while there is at Ross Graham, so visiting both makes it worthwhile.

Take your time and enjoy the view, short walk and anyone can get to the lookout. Will visit again next time I’m in Kalbarri.

Along drive out of town but worth it. Recommend visiting on the way in. Caravans are accommodated. Beautiful scenery and an easy walk to the look out. Recommend a visit

This is a nice and easy short walk to view the beautiful river, gorge and rock formations that this National Park has to offer. Only about 400m on a sealed path.
