We took a 1 hour boat trip down the Creek and saw lots of rock wallabies (some with joeys). The guide was entertaining & informative. He managed to keep everyone interested in the rock formations and wildlife, including the kids!

No powered craft other than a single authorised tour guide are allowed on this piece of water. So it is beautifully serene and quiet. Well.. so long as you don't go at the same time as the tour guide. His commentary from the boat does carry in the canyon and disturb the quiet. But he does a great job showing the gorge to folks that cannot get up there in their own kayak.
It is beautiful, and worth carrying your kayak the many kms required to get there.

Cannot give accurate rating! Couldn’t go!
We HAD to cancel 2hrs before tour time due to major mechanical problems of our Motorhome. Rang the Exmouth Tourist Office to cancel and were told “No refunds” would be given by the Tour Operator. That was Friday, 20th May 2022 for 12:30 tour. We asked if we could transfer the tour to Sunday but were told we just forfeit the $80 Friday trip and have to pay the $80 AGAIN if rebooking! THERE IS NO REFUND
The Exmouth Tourist Office have been very helpful so we have no complaints with them.
We have travelled approximately 3,000km with this tour in mind. Sooo disappointed!
The Operator’s professionalism has to be questioned !!!

Great place to visit. Easy trek wand if you’re not too steady on your feet follow the bitumen path until it’s time for you to stop. Definitely recommend honking the boat, you won’t be disappointed by the lively and knowledgeable guiding and eagle-eye wildlife spotting. Great to see the creek from top and bottom too.
Stick to the path, be aware of others. Take water. Enjoy.

Did the walk at sunrise and kayaked along the gorge around sunset. Was our first encounter with the special black flanked rock wallaby - an incredibly agile animal that somehow hops along the almost vertical walls. Truly beautiful landscape with sea in the background - an unexpected treat.

Beautiful place with so much to see... wallabies, ospreys, insects, fish, kangaroos, all sorts. The walk to the top was easy enough, although some people might struggle. We saw some elderly people doing it, so reakon if they can handle it, then anyone can. Just be careful where you step as someone slipped and broke their ankle while we were there, and a rescue unfolded.
Amazing views from the top. Kayaking the river would be awesome but we didn't have roof racks on our hire car.

We did the Yardie Creek boat tour and it was worth every cent and more. Our guide Boxy was relaxed, funny, informative, and lynx eyed at searching out wild life to show us. Not only do you get information about Yardie Creek, but also growing up in Exmouth which was fascinating.Make sure you book, people were turned away in disappointment.

This is a fun place to visit at the end of the Yardie Creek Road in Cape Range National Park. There is a carpark, public toilets as well as picnic tables setup under the shade of some big trees to go along with lots of good nature, wildlife and hiking trails in the area.
The feature geological attraction is the creek which you can hike along the north side along two trails. The Yardie Nature Trail is around 1.2 km out and back, it is fairly easy and allows nice views of the creek and gorge. There is a longer, somewhat more challenging Yardie Gorge Trail that is 2km out and back. It goes further along the gorge taking up to higher vantage points. Best to have good walking shoes along with plenty of water, sunscreen and a hat for this one.
You can also do the Yardie Creek Bout Tour, reservations required. The boat trip is 2-3 times a day and around 1 hour in length, taking up of the creek while introducing you to the gorge, vegetarian bird and wildlife as well as local heritage and history as well. Lastly, there is beachfront at Yardie Creek as well if you haven't had your fill at other beaches along the Ningaloo Coastline.
We really enjoyed spending a few hours at Yardie Creek during our recent visit to Exmouth. This is a fun location within Cape Range National Park with fairly easy activities for families and people with all levels of fitness.

After doing the relaxing Yardie Creek Boat tour from water level we had to get moving and see the creek from the cliff tops and do the Yardie Creek Gorge hike. This hike took you along the cliffs Eve of the gorge with some up and down climbs through the rocky terrain. Make sure you have good hiking footwear as some of the ups and downs are quite steep and require stable footing. Once at the top we got a great view across Yardie Creek to the Ningaloo Reef. Absolutely stunning as we traversed our way back to the car park. Glad we just didn’t do the walk trail and went on to complete the gorge walk. Well worth the effort.

Hi, is dogs allowed with you on leash in Yardie creek.
Written 2 September 2017
I am pretty sure dogs wouldn't be allowed as it is a national park but worth checking.
Written 9 September 2017
Would you only require one overnight stay at Yardi Creek with the river cruise or should we do the tour from Exmouth
Written 11 August 2017
If you have a hire car, it is a day trip from Exmouth coupled with a beach stop such as Turquoise Bay.
