Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very informative in a fun way. Engaging for all ages. Saw wildlife that we wouldn’t have done if we hadn’t been on the tour. Enjoyable way to see the creek.

Great outing. Boxey was super informative and the kids loved their special job to "count the black footed wallaby". Relaxed and enjoyable morning.

Our guide was super entertaining and passed on so much information, from the history of the region to the background of the animals. We saw lots of rock wallabies and bird life as the 1 hour tour went by in a flash. He was really engaging for our young girls, and even gave them a chance to pilot the boat which they loved. Highly recommend.

We left our overnight accommodation in Carnarvon before sunrise in order to get to Yardie Creek in time to do this cruise and all of us (4 adults) thought that it was worth the effort. The driver, Pete, was very entertaining with both his local knowledge and quirky sense of humour.
We saw lots of rock wallabies basking in the sun, and several different types of birds, as well as some bats nesting in the surrounding trees. The boat tour is a great way to view the wildlife and the natural beauty of the gorge itself.
The rock formations and the colours of the rocks are a photographer's dream.

The Visitors Centre recommended this tour and we’re so glad we took their advice. Our UK visitors were blown away by the variety of wildlife – lots of wallabies, osprey and other birds, even bats. The creek is actually tidal so is all salt water and it’s surrounded by beautiful red cliffs. It’s a very picturesque place and our tour guide ‘Boxy’ was so interesting. He told us the history of Exmouth from his personal perspective as he grew up there during the 60s when it was an American base. We recommend this tour.

Pete or should I say Boxy was on time.
I expected more people to be picked up for the bus but less people on the boat but ultimately it was a really good tour
He doesn’t just know the area. He lives it for example he doesn’t simply describe the base as a mini America he’s lived and worked it as has his family before him.
I also like that where possible he seeks out further information such as about the bird life in the area.
He took the time to ask the guests a little bit about themselves.
He allowed time for questions
Having spent almost a lifetime there he clearly has a keen eye and easily pointed out various birds and wallabies that we as tourists would have easily missed.
Overall well worth the money and I’d recommend to anyone whether travelling solo or with kids.

Omg what can I say. Pete (tour guild and captain extraordinaire) was informative and entertaining. We got to see osprey, rock wallabies, West Coast Supporters plus incredible rock formations. Such an impressive history and information. All jokes aside, well worth the money. Highly recommend

Is it safe for an 18 month old? Also, where does this tour begin in relation to Exmouth?

Yes it would be safe for an 18 month old child, you have to drive out to Yardie creek, I not sure what the child price was but adults were $35.00 each
