Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Ningaloo Aquarium And Discovery Center is located on the main road in the center of Exmouth, WA. There are exhibits on the growth of Exmouth from it's begining as an American Airbase in the 1960's. Then there is a huge aquarium with reef fish that swim in the waters around Exmouth. It's all very interesting and we spent couple of hours there.

I was surprised at how well this discovery centre was set out. I recall they said it was completed in 2017 so very modern compared to older museums.
It was the first thing we saw after arriving as there's not much else to do in town and it gave us an overview of its unique history and the surrounding environment.
Even though we were a couple, I appreciated there was lots of interactive displays to entertain kids.

They had such a range of displays:
> Indigenous info
> Maritime history
> Cyclone Vance
> American Military Base history
> Aquarium
> Creatures of the dark/cave system
> Creatures of the land exhibit
> Small art exhibit

Such value for money.

The Discovery centre is well put together and covers the town's history and local flora and fauna. The aquarium is absolutely fascinating and what made it 5 star was the aquarium manager came out to introduce us to the various fish (Miley, Gary and others), answer our questions and discuss their behaviours/personalities. It was fantastic and we easily spent half an hour totally absorbed. I would watch a livestream or follow updates on the daily happenings in that aquarium. Honestly, I need closure on how the clown fish eggs being laid at the time ended up. Were they safely collected? Did the Sargent fish get a nibble??

Expectations were high as we were told how it’s great place to visit. Our first experience was our encounter with a “less than friendly” staff to purchase our tickets. We told her we were seniors and she asked to see our cards. I forgot to bring my card so I didn’t get the senior ticket whilst my husband did. I offered to show my drivers license to prove my age but she was cold to the idea. So don’t forget to bring your senior card if you visit this place. Exhibits within the Center were so so .. a few fishes in the aquarium and a few creatures in the land exhibit area, The cafe was closed (Sunday maybe).. great air conditioning if you need to cool down.

A great look into the prominence of Exmouth as a town, its cyclone tragedy and the USA influence in the town with the existence of the Naval communications. Also a fascinating aquarium and a reptile area. Well designed. It’s $21 for adult entry and takes about an hour and a half depending on how much you want to read.

The Ningaloo Discovery Centre has all the information & help you need for tours & bookings in the Ningaloo area, not just for Exmouth where it is located. I would like to recognise & thank Christine for her help & guidance in securing us a sunset cruise, first in Exmouth then in Coral Bay when the first one did not proceed. She followed up all details competently & couldn’t have help3d more. We appreciated this greatly & had a superb & spectacular sunset cruise in Coral Bay. Thank you Christine & the Ningaloo Discovery Centre.

Centrally located in town. The museum, aquarium and gift shop all add to a visit to Exmouth with local information and specialties.
I loved the pretend aquarium wall inside the aquarium- good fun for all ages.
Worth a visit. Discounted entry for concession holders

We were short of things to do as it was raining solidly for 2 days. Worth a visit and we thought the $19 entry fee per adult was ok. A small aquarium, some reptiles and history of the town plus a cyclone room and a gift shop. We were there for about 90 mins. Friendly staff

We learnt so much about the region and Ningaloo Reef. The aquarium was a treat with some of the most beautiful fish I’ve ever seen. The historic exhibition was also worth seeing and loved the cyclone exhibit where you actually get to experience the winds! This whole place is a must see and kids will love it.
