Our Humpback Whale Swim Tours are a separate trip and they will be starting on the 1st of August and running through until mid / late October. If you are planning a trip to our beautiful coastal town of Exmouth in July, then we will have our Whale Shark Snorkel Tour available during this time. July is one of our busiest months here at Ningaloo, with the WA and Interstate School Holidays falling in July. Therefore we would highly recommend to book in advance if you can. The Whale Shark Tours are very popular with limited seats and peak periods can book out weeks and even months in advance. We would hate for you to miss out on this incredible experience! Humpbacks usually visit Exmouth between August and November. Whale sharks from April to September. I am hoping to see the humpbacks in October.

Wow, whale sharks, humpback whales and Orcas all in one would be the ultimate day!! Going from previous whale shark seasons, July would be the best month to encounter all three. We saw Orcas yesterday actually (29th March) which was quite a surprise! The humpback migration and calving occurs in July, which is why the presence of Orca are higher in that month. We are receiving bookings on a daily basis and therefore it is difficult to predict which dates will book out faster than others as we are busy throughout the season. For Saturday the 3rd of June we are already over half booked. However, I still have a lot of availability for the days prior and after the 3rd June. I would recommend to book in your preferred date as soon as possible. If for any reasons the date would have to be moved then we accommodate changes to our best possible given that we have availability and the newly chosen date. Yes we had kids on our Whale Shark trip .. from about 5 years to 10 years and they were OK but not great swimmers and no issues at all as the parents were with them and the 3 Island Staff are both careful and in the water ... also only problems with the kids is that they hogged the photographer to get photos ..thought they were on land talking selfies... only kidding on the “ problem” as great to see kids experiencing as they will grow to be the next set of planet protectors.

We didn't see manta rays on the whale shark tour, but it is possible as I understand.

You should be fine... just let the team at 3 Islands know & they will hold your hand if need be. There is a ladder either side of the boat & the staff will help you & remove fins etc.

Hi Matthew, thank you very much for your inquiry regarding our whale shark snorkel tours on Ningaloo Reef - we would love to have you and your family on board for an adventure of a lifetime! We have families with young children on board our excursions all the time. The youngest we have had out there swimming along with the gentle giants was just 3 years old! As long as they are quite competent swimmers and you are there to help them along, there is no problem at all with children joining our tour. Our crew are fantastic with children as well and will assist as much as they can throughout the day. April is definitely our busiest time here at Ningaloo and just being during the April school holidays, we definitely recommend to book in advance as tours do book out in advance.
