This place was very impressive. The design of the displays and the layout was interesting, informative, comfortable and immersive. It was easy to be engaged in each of the different presentations. If the place was very busy however, ambient noise might make it more difficulty to hear the presentation audio but on the whole, this wasn’t an issue for me the day I was there. Well worth the time to stop in here for 1-2 hours. There is also a café and a shop with some great items for sale, both commercially produced and by local artists.

We went to look at the cultural centre
It was well set out with some parts are free and another part you had to pay a fee
We went into the payed section and a really nice man told us about the tribes in the area before we went in.
I must say I could have sat down and listened to the man all day, he was so interesting to listen to
We loved the experience and bought some items
Great place to visit

Glad we stopped here. The staff were engaging with the kids and the exhibition was interesting to read through. Lovely shop and great coffee. We’re now off to see the burrowing bees in real life!

Very interesting centre highlighting indigenous history of Carnarvon. Also very sad how they were treated until recently. I think this should be mandatory teaching at schools in order to obtain a greater understanding of our history and the issues that it created. Some good artwork was also on display in main foyer. Many thanks to Norma who welcomed us and gave us excellent introduction to the centre and it’s importance. Also to another lady whose name we did not get who told us all about the burrowing bee. One of the highlights of our visit to Carnarvon

Certainly one of the best Cultural Centres I've been to. It didn't seem obvious where the exhibition was located but once I found it I spent a couple of hours there!
You should allocate some time as there is a lot of very interesting information. Friendly, helpful and informative staff. Well worth the money.

Our guide Renae was so informative and passionate about her country and her heritage. We learned so much. And the interpretative display area was really well done. Of course there is some confronting history, but Renae was really positive about accepting and moving forward. The display of local children's artwork was impressive as well as some professionally produced bronzes. The team at Gwoonwardu Mia should be and doubt are very proud of what they looking after and presenting to us all about their history and heritage.

Contrary to the brochure we picked up at the visitor center, they are not open on weekends. We delayed our departure on the Monday so we could have a look and we are so glad we did! This centre is amazing - you could easily spend all day here. We had a guided tour with Norma and wow, can she connect to people! Her personal stories were incredible. We will be back!
