The must-see attraction on Capri is the magical Blue Grotto, where visitors take a boat ride through a natural cavern that is filled with an ethereal and eerie light reflecting on the (very blue) water.

I was awe struck when we entered the cave. Although it is for a short time, the view makes it worth going. The baotman singing opera is like the icing on the top that adds upto the experience.

The grotto is beautiful. Pictures can't do it justice. You first must step down from your ferry into a little rowboat and then lay flat to enter the cave. It is a little on the expensive side to take the trip but IMO is completely worth it. The guys rowing the boats will serenade you with traditional Sorrentine songs :)

While staying in Sorrento, my sister and I decided to take a trip on a ferry to Capri. There were other faster ferries, but we opted for a slower, cheaper one, and just enjoyed the ride. Reaching Capri, we hired a taxi that took us up the hill to Anacapri where we had lunch. Afterward we took a taxi to... More

Of course as nature has it way to mesmerise you this nature's glory even though has so many visitors is still unscathed. Good Weather of course has to be bestowed upon you to go via boat and the best time to see it in cave is noon and thus most busy as well. Warning in busy months n days one... More

You pay for the trip by boat from the jetty in Capri, they take you when they want too not sticking to any schedule, when you arrive after 20 mins or so, you are transferred to another small boat taken to a floating cash register where you are demanded to pay more, in you go through a dog shed size... Ok who else has you climb down the side of a cliff, to get on a boat that takes you to the cash register boat, to then have a guy hold a chain as if he's about to jump into double dutch rope just to pull your boat through an opening in a cave that gets as large enough to... More

We saw the exterior of the grotto in May 2012. Since the tides were to high to enter with our boat, all we saw was the limestone exterior. Large limestone faces where the grottos or caves are formed out of. Very blue water in this area off of Capri.

You may be debating this attraction because there will be a long wait time and you will only be in the grotto for a few minutes. This is accurate but it is truly spectacular. We took the boat out to the grotto and then you are transferred into small boats that take you inside. There are other grottos (white and... More

We were part of a tour that visited the Blue Grotto. Would be better to do yourself as it was extremely affordable. (I think 6 Euro) Do not pin all your hopes on doing this activity in Capri as it depends on water levels and is often cancelled. Gondola driver was a great singer and not bad to look at... More

The Blue Grotto is beautiful! Floating around a mysterious blue lagoon in a dimly lit cave while the boatman sings... Just a bit annoyed with the fact that we only got to spend 2 minutes inside with how much we had to pay to get in!
