About
The Jurisdiction of Saint-Emilion (including the town and the territory of the 8 villages united under the authority of the medieval Jurade) was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage in 1999 to preserve, restore and share this outstanding heritage! Covered in vines and bordered with rivers, along woody slopes and picturesque roads, the Jurisdiction of Saint-Emilion stretches out over 75 km² around a particularly well-preserved medieval town and is the ideal place to stay. Only 30 minutes from Bordeaux and 1h from Bergerac or Périgueux, Saint-Emilion is the perfect starting point to tour around the vineyards of Bordeaux and the Perigord district. Legend has it that the town bears the name of a Breton monk that performed miracles while living an exemplary life. In order to retire from social life, he settled in 750 in a natural grotto, which can still be visited nowadays in the heart of the town!

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Popped in to pick up a map, staff seemed very busy. That said the nearby Maison du Vin is your best bet for a wine shop. It appears to be a local commercial venue and prices are better controlled. The commune is full of wine shops that are in my view massively over charging people. I price checked about a dozen bottles and could get them all cheaper on line in the UK. Browse …,but buy and your over paying in my view, seems the wine shops are a rip off for tourists.

There is hardly any information in the form of brochures. Everything has to be downloaded. It is Nice to have both options. So I was rather dissapointed with my visit to this Office de tourisme.
The map we got, the same as on the website, was unclear on parking places. Also on the website the information on parking is inadequate.
We visited st. Emilion on thursday afternoon in the beginning of April 2023. Not a single normal parking place was available. We parked outside of the city along the road like many other cars. I guess that in the Summer there will be no room on the roads either.
If I would have known this I would have come very early in the day.

Dear monika c,
Thank you very much for your visit to Saint-Emilion, we are delighted to have welcomed you.
We are saddened to read your disappointment and can only advise you, during your next visit, to dare to ask questions to our reception team who will be happy to clarify all your questions.
To answer your opinion and for your information, all the brochures that we propose in download on our Internet site are also available in paper format at the reception of the Tourist office (we understood that you had asked and received a plan of the village).
On this map you can see the free and paid parking places.
As any tourist place, in Saint-Emilion in April, it is already the beginning of the tourist season, especially during the holy week which precedes the Easter weekend.
We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again, why not out of the tourist season, from November to March.

Definitely a must if you haven’t got any organised tours or aren’t wine drinkers like us. We found the tram really helpful and did a tour with Sarah as our guide. She was wonderful and full of information!

They were very helpful with directions and places to taste wine in St Emilion. There is also a gift shop for the church and the city itself. From Large posters, to postcards and books, to jewelry. It also had clean restrooms we used. Staffed by several young women and they were kept busy.

We've been here a number of times for advice on where to go and what to see in St Emilion. The agents at the information desk, ticket desk and gift shop are always very helpful and friendly. If you've never been to St Emilion before, you must stop off here first.

Just got back from 5 great days in Saint Emilion. What made the break go from good to great was the level of service in the tourist information office. So many ideas, trips booked, they can't do enough too please, all done in very happy and cheerful way in what must be a very demanding job. Multilingual helpful staff make easy conversation and pleasure to visit
Tuk tuks, walking tours, château visits, bell tower, the cloisters, trips out, they added so much to our holiday.
Think this is the best tourist information office in the world. Thanks to all.

We rented bikes for the 4 of us and biked all over the area the entire day. Helmets, locks and bike basket were included. It was fun for the whole family and the best way to see the vineyards. They have biking routes and maps with recommendations with different distances and it is not too hilly. Our 7 and 11 year olds didn't have any problems. Biking through the vineyards and looking at all the different wine chateaux is the perfect way to see the area.

Since we only had one day in Saint Emilion we opted for the tour of the must see spots offered by the tourist office and were very happy that we did. Our guide, Audrey was fantastic, super informative and enthusiastic, and made sure we got the most of our short time. Highly recommended.

Quisiera saber si para las visitas a la iglesia monolítica en español hay unos días y unos horarios concretos. Yo hablo francés pero no mis acompañantes que son tres. Para todos sería más agradable una visita en español. Gracias.

Hi !
We are happy to hear that you'Lloyd be coming by Saint-Emilion during your trip.
There are no laundry machines in the village but maybe can The Logis des Remparts help you out ?
Other option to explore the 2 main towns next to Saint-Emilion : Libourne and Castillon-la-Bataille.
We hope this could help you a bit.
