Very close to the downtown Village of Saint-Emilion. A classified winery with the excellent wines and unbelievable experience underground and touring the caves that were once dug for the limestones that built Saint-Emilion.

Beautiful family vineyard which is 90% Merlot. The tour leader was very knowledgeable and the best part was the huge old quarry they use for storing the barrels. Beautiful wine and a vineyard I would recommend.

This tour showed less of the production side than most wine tours we went on in the Bordeaux area, so it was interesting but not remarkable except to see the caves, left from limestone quarrying. This is why wine cellars are called "caves" in French!

Coming form Australia where we have access to some great wines, I was interested if the wines from Franc Mayne could measure up. While they were good wines the prices we so huge, I wondered why the great Australian wines are not more expensive. Certainly...More
