nice view of waterfalls and gorge for an easy hike. better to start from the top level, leave your car there and get the shuttle bus to go back to the top level. A lot of stairs so it's better going down than climbing up.
A great place to visit if you are looking for a short getaway from Pittsburgh. Close to the Five finger lakes area. Best time would be to start your walk early in the morning (i.e when the park opens). This way you will find little...More
This gorge walk is a very interesting insight into the power of water. The rock features are fascinating. The walk itself can be tiring at times, if you're not ready for it, with places to stop, relax and listen to the water
This is another 1 of the greatest state park that i ever gone too and it was beautiful hike with descent steps easy to access for all ages, i just love the waterfall, easy access to restroom and parking..highly recommended it.

It is less than a 10 minute drive. It all depends on the time and season that you will be traveling there. During the summer it is extremely busy. We were there in mid-October and it was not crowded at all.

the trails in the gorge close for the winter, usually some time in November, or sooner depending on the weather. They will reopen in the spring, again the timing depends on the weather and the icy trails thawing.
