The (DCMA) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization. The school provides music lessons as well as instruments at minimal cost to anyone interested in studying music or acquiring mastery of n instrument and has currently over 500 registered members. One of the specific aims is to broaden the educational and vocational opportunities for young people, children and women, and in particular we try to encourage, support and teach disadvantaged children and young people Musically and culturally.

We stumbled upon this coming from the ferry in Zanzibar, a huge blackboard outside the academy advertised taraab music that evening so we went along and for a few dollars you get an hour and a half of traditional Tanzanian music played by the students...More

The building is very beautifull. Insite you have access to very impressive art. Beautiful paintings and amazing live local music concerts!! Totally recomend it.
