Maybe it's not exactly La Cuvette beach in Grand Baie, I mean the public beach in Grand Baie. Right on the road (heavy traffic noise = engines, music, ... plus all the boats coming back from the tours ... terrible. What I don't understand at all is the loud music on the excursion boats. You're in a beautiful natural setting and now there's this overly loud techno / disco music 🤯🤮

We alternate between Pereybere and La Cuvette.
When we want to swim its Pereybere but for peace and quiet and lovely views it has to be La Cuvette.
Love watching the catamarans sail back into Grand Baie here in the late afternoon.
Swimming not so good as rocky and some seaweed.
Sunbeds available for hire - the only place in Grand Baie now.
Fast food available but at twice the cost of Pereybere vendors.

Ample parking.
Loos and showers though I haven't tried either.

A lovely little sandy cove with a great swimming. Loungers are available for hire. There are some ‘snack shacks’ that serve really good food. Alcohol isn’t sold there - only soft drinks, but you can bring your own alcoholic drinks without any problem. I can unreservedly recommend the fresh coconut. If you want to eat, be sure to use the red beach shack nearest the beach ;to the left when looking at the beach) - the food is good and the guys running it are friendly and courteous; always with a smile.

Even though it was the first week of the Mauritius school holidays the place wasn't crowded when we came on a weekday.
Much less busy than Pereybere or Choisy.

Good for picnics although plenty of fast food available.

Toilets and showers though didn't use.
Soft sand - not sure about swimming as we didn't try though notices state there is a current.

Sun loungers looked nice but no idea how much they cost. Only two were in use.

Great views across the bay to Grand Baie.

La Cuvette is one of my favorite beaches in the north. It has a fairly large parking lot, lots of food vendors offering everything from seafood to curry to fried noodles. There are lots of shady spots under the trees and the water is fairly deep. There are rocks so you have to be careful and a warning posted about strong currents. Because it’s right next to Grand Baie, you can also watch the sailboats and water sports as they go by.

Nice enough public beach close to Le Mauricia Hotel and Grand Baie Convention Centre. Ample parking spaces, showers and loos, seating areas and food stalls.
Popular with families as plenty of shade for picnics but quite rocky in places.
Can get crowded at weekends.

Came back to this lovely beach when we were in Grand Baie with friends after finding how good it was last year.

Only downside is that the changing rooms have gone into disrepair and the doors have been pulled off - a fairly fundamental problem that needs resolving.

Having been to virtually all beach's on Mauritius, This for both Swimming, And especially snorkelling, IS THE BEST Parking is ok, No boats clogging up the bay, Cleaners who keep everything Tidy, Changing rooms and loos, Plus kiosks for nibbles.
For me though, its the hassle free snorkelling, where yo actually see LIFE,
go down on the right hand side about 10 meters away from the black sea wall rocks, and go in it starts pretty quick, theres a short clear bit and it starts again. No coral as theres no Coral on mauritius , or the islands anymore, just remains in a few places.
But theres ample seaweed type growing happily, With a good selection of fish, Mind the sea urchins,,,as in places theres lots, and big ones.
Plus this beach does not feel "Commercialised" Or have Rip off Ice cream vans. Tip never buy from one with no prices, As they keep a pile in the back with different prices, A Large one should never be more than Rs50.

One of the best sea and beach in Mauritius. And in summer it is the place to be. You have food near and nice place to tan on the beach.
