An old ramshackle Ottoman Fort that's a bit dusty but worth a visit. Fought over by the British and French in 19C has some good exhibits highlights include climbing a watch tower to look down on a map of Roman Egypt (and good views of...More

Neat old fort with a lot of history, but very little support in the way of exhibits, information, or even cleaning the place up. Fine to visit if you have nothing to do, but I wouldn't budget valuable vacation time in hopes of a cool...More

We visited the fort on a very hot afternoon - temperatures of 40c and several in our party (including myself ) were overcome with heat exhaustion and were unable to fully appreciate the historic importance associated with it ( resting place for travellers on the...More

There is detailed information on its history within the Fort which explains how important El Quseir was to Egypt and its people.

Not a lot to see here, but an interesting hour, or couple of hours if you really get into it. Some nice views. Personally, worth a look if you're in Qusier, but not worth a special visit. Guide was friendly, his 'son' playful. Very little...More

The citadel's story is interesting, in addition to its role in the ottoman era in observing the Egyptian convoy traveling to Saudi Arabia for Hajj. Also there is a map on the citadel's floor for Egyptian under the rule of the Roman empire.

Nothing new probably it's there just to attract visitors and the sorrounding are it's just creepy. Probably I won't come back in egypt anymore or just to have a really cheap holiday or doing snorkeling.

Just back, after another month at above hotel. It seems to get better every time I visit. Great food, great weather. Fabulous staff. All work hard to please guests. Great atmosphere. Cannot wait for next year, for yet another holiday there. Diane T. Northampton England.

Obviously a remnant from the time when El Quesier was an important port. Interesting to walk around & there are a couple of small exhibitions tucked away in the 'towers'. Felt it was suffering from lack of funds - like many other places in Egypt....More

Small fort with a train and tracks to show how phosphate was mined. Interesting stone map, and you can go up in the tower and look over the area.

Cheap entry with guided tour. Still in good order the watch tower is well worth the climb. Great views over Quesir and the sea. The underground water cistern is in great condition but it's worth taking a torch with you. Old English cannons still in...More
