Small museum with knowledgeable staff. Museum centers around Jon Sigurdsson, a sort of Icelandic George Washington. Loaded with interesting history about Iceland's history and role in the world.

A well-preserved historic insight into the dwelling of Icelandic people. This was one of the delightful sights on our tour, and not too crowded. The nearby shop offered restrooms, coffee and some interesting souvenirs!

This was listed as an 'optional' stop by our agent but I think should be a 'must see' location. Learnt more here about Iceland's modern history than anywhere else. And after all the place is not just waterfalls and old volcanoes! Entry price very reasonable...More
