I had a wonderful time at Thanksgiving weekend event at Lyndhurst Mansion , I did not see a lot of the grounds because it was raining but that just means I will visit again in the future. The house was decked out for Christmas so festive. The staff were wonderful .

On the last day of our visit to New York City, we headed an hour north up the Hudson to visit several historic sites, including Lyndhurst. By the time we set our itinerary, the House Tours on this date were already sold out, so we bought the Grounds Pass that allowed us to enjoy walking about the grounds to see the house and the outbuildings as well as enjoy the views of the Hudson River and the Tappan Zee Bridge. We brought a picnic lunch and found a bench to sit and enjoy the views. There were also Halloween decorations set up around the grounds, which made our visit even more special.

We could not get a house tour but paid for ground access. During the month of October there were fun Halloween decorations. Nice place to explore for an hour or two. Nice gift shop.

After touring 4 estates in the Hudson River Valley, I and my granddaughter agreed that Lyndhurst was our favorite. It's a beautiful step back in time with LOTS of furniture and memorabilia from the occupants. And it was great to get a tour by a well-informed guide instead of the audios. The art work is amazing, the occupants are interesting and the grounds are beautiful. My recommendation is if you only have time for one mansion, it should be Lyndhurst. A true gem! As you'll see when you register online, you'll need to bring your vaccination card with you so stick it in your wallet.

This is one of my favorite places to visit. My friends and I spent hours here wandering around the grounds after our tour of the mansion was over. This beautiful mansion overlooks the Hudson River and we saw 3 groundhogs, 1 rabbit and a deer on the grounds. Beautiful furniture and the tour guide knew her information inside and out. I highly suggest you book a mansion tour and then tour the grounds afterwards. There is a pool house, conservatory, exhibit of fashion and the bowling house.

We thoroughly enjoyed our “Classic Tour” of this beautiful home. Our tour guide, Ed, was great! He presented us with lots of facts about the construction of this home and the people who lived in it in an interesting and friendly way. He was able to answer any questions anyone on the tour asked. We plan on going back for one of the other tours offered!

We did the mansion tour and grounds tour. The mansion was interesting with some great architectural details. There's a separate building to tour closer to the river with a bowling alley that was a bonus. The grounds and garden tour were a little disappointing. We did this tour in the Fall of 2019 but I forgot to write about it until now.

Supposedly one of the finest Gothic mansions in America overlooking the Hudson River.

Unfortunately it was closed due to Covid 19 but the grounds are open and they charge $10 to tour.

Can't wait to visit when it reopens.

So glad that they run grounds and gardens tours during COVID-19. It’s a great property and they take great care to maintain it.

It’s also possible to visit without tours with a grounds pass.

Mansion tours start in July.
