We went for wine tasting, they have 2-3 sweet wines that aren't port or sherry (which I'm not a fan of). I bought a bottle of blush and my husband got the raspberry sherry that was just a little too syruppy for me. I was going to get a cocktail, the guy warned me it would be the first cocktail... More

but as a natural tourist, stopping is essential -- and I am glad I did. The winery is about eight years old and makes a wide variety of wines, some of which are actually sold in NYC at Astor, where we have standing orders of everyday wines. The tasting room is very pleasant, the staff knowledgeable, and we spent a... More

Maybe it's more lively in ski season, but in October Tannersville is a pretty dreary place. But the Hudson Chatham tasting room is an oasis figuratively and literally. The staff was fun and knowledgeable and made for a great visit. There is not much else in town so it made for nice find.

We dropped in and tasted 4 different reds and 4 different white wines. The counter ladies were very well informed and happy to share information about the wine, its origins, the vineyard (in Chatham, NY), the owners and the tasting notes they have collected. We walked away with a few cases. My wife is NUTS about their Rose Wine. You... More

A friend and I stopped in for an afternoon tasting. The wines were delicious, the staff gracious and the price a good value, while the setting was lovely!

How can it get any better? A world-class winery about 2 miles from my house! From old vine Baco Noir to lighter, slightly sweeter 'picnic wines' to their Paperbirch dessert wines - Carlo and Dominique, owners, and Steve Casscles, winemaker and owner of a couple of the vineyards from which HCW gets its 'raw product', create something for anyone who... I love wine, so $5 to taste five wines, excellent. The wine was very good, bought tow bottles, plus a bottle of whit balsamic vinegar which they make as well. They also have grappa, which was very good.
