We stopped at the Long Island Museum of American Art, History and Carriages on a Sunday afternoon and a wave of Deja Vu swept over me. Over 30 years ago, as a newbie to the construction industry I worked as an Assistant Project Manager for...More

This carriage Museum is a must see-these horse driven carriages come in all sizes and shapes-Some from the fire department -the police department some look like they came out of a vampire movie

We came to see the art museum display (which was more limited than we would have preferred), but were treated to a most excellent carriage museum. Very comprehensive and informative. A bonus was the display on duck decoys and Long Island storms. Can't get over...More

Spent the morning at the Long Island museum. The art ehibiteds were interesting. Though the exhibit "In Harms Way" was less art than history/anthropology. The collection of carriages was interesting. Loved the crocheted trees.

A valuable and interesting collection which provides a unique historical perceptive. In addition, there almost is always a thoughtful and well-curated art installation.

This is a nice museum, I enjoyed the Prohibition exhibit. The price was certainly reasonable for admission. I would like to see this museum expanded to have more exhibits, perhaps a permanent exhibit on the Revolution.

We visited on Sunday, not knowing what to expect. This is a hidden treasure and offers much more than people know about it. Definitely worth seeing and end up with a visit to Historical Stonybrook as well as St James general store

All 3 venues are a credit to the area and to the Smithsonian that partners with this museum and only a few others. The quality of the exhibits are first class, the objects, expert curation and presentation.. Don't miss an opportunity to visit and enjoy...More
