Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you are devoted to Our Lady, or are a wearer of the Brown Scapular, this is a must. Do not miss it.

this amazing structure was built by Italian craftsmen and artisans over a century ago. It is a hand crafted religious masterpiece made of humble materials. Every summer there is a festival to celebrate.

This is a very old well kept grotto. Everytime I come here I feel so calm and peaceful. They also have a large feast yearly which is so nice with great food, music and social fun. Lots of games and even rides for the kids.

While I appriciate the effort that went into creating this grotto, it is far from a tourist attraction. It is more of a curiosity than anything else.

The grotto which was all built by hand is amazing to see. Each year in July a festival takes place on the grounds in honor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. People come every year to pay homage to the saint and enjoy a nice evening. Being native to the area I have been attending for many years. Sausage and Pepper Heroes, Fresh Fried Calzones & Zeppoles, Beer and more. Games of Chance and Live Entertainment. It is small and local, but still can provide a nice evening.

Every July Our Lady of Mount Carmel Grotto has a 2 week long feast where you can go and light a candle for your departed loved ones and just plain good family fun. Music every night and games of chance which I am sure go to the grotto.

You have to call 311 from within NYC for the Staten Island Borough Hall contact info of the place (or any of the other local attractions), for their current hours of operation.
Hope this helps.
