We went to Fort Wadsworth two days after completing the New York Marathon as we wanted to see what it looked like without 50,000 runners milling around waiting to run. It was an interesting place but had a deserted feel to it and it didn't...More

A nice place to see the Verazano and the city from across the water. During certain times of the year you can take a tour of the ruins left over from preparation for war. Bunkers and old buildings are buried in the hillside and you...More

The site was very beautiful and interesting to be there, but it was not possible to enter the fortress. Anyway the view was amazing to the New York harbor and the bridgre to Brooklyn. Neighborhood is also worth for having a walk around.

Weed Battery gives you an idea of what soldiering was like during the 1800's. It also shows the strategic importance of New York Harbour.

This has a lot of things to do on a low budget. The overlook and the park museum is free and gives you a tour of the Forts, along with the displays they have.
