We did the Sleepy Hollow highlights on a self guided tour. Add this to your list and stop in for a stroll. Its a creepy cemetery that adds to the Sleepy Hollow lore.

The history buff in me really enjoyed the venture out to SleepyHallow and stoping to see this landmark. I particularly enjoyed finding the road parallel to the Pocantico River. Unfortunately there is traffic going up and down this road which brakes the tranquility of the surroundings with the peaceful solemn cemetery to one side and the rolling waters of the... More

The Old Dutch Church and Burial ground is actually the south entrance to Sleepy Hollow cemetery, just the really old and historic part, very interesting 1600s-1700s,we just love that stuff!

We visited Sleepy Hollow cemetery and on the way out we went into the church for a quick peak. There was some history there which was cool but not too much To see but if you're in the neighborhood def check it out. It's free and free parking as well on premises..

We took the kids on a Sleepy Hollow adventure during fall and came across this historical site. It was a wonderful walk exploring with our small and older children. We went hunting for the headless horseman bridge and found such wonderful scenery. Such a peaceful place.

As lovers of history, we often find ourselves wandering through old cemeteries. The carved stones and the hints of life stories are often sources of fascination. As we made our way through the Old Dutch Church Burying Ground, we looked for the gravesite of American author, Washington Irving. We found it near a black wrought iron gate bearing the name... This is a must-see if you're visiting Sleepy Hollow. Many of the characters Washington Irving used in his story, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, are buried here such as the Van Tassels and Brom Bones (AbrahamVan Brunt). Washington Irving himself is buried here too; very close to the Old Dutch Church...just up a little hill and his whole family has... More

We visited Sleepy Hollow halloween weekend this year. The town was so decorated for halloween season, it was a great experience. We visited their famous Sleepy Hollow graveyard during the afternoon. We did not know until there, that Old Dutch Burying Ground is right next to Sleepy Hollow graveyard, they actually merge at one point. We wondered around the graveyard... More

We stopped in Sleepy Hollow on the way to Newport and really enjoyed wandering around the old burying ground. It's a shame that we couldn't go inside the church and that there isn't really a map of where the famous graves are.
