About
This sculpture park was intended to house the works of the designer, but the setting itself became the artist's masterwork. It is possible to visit by appointment on non-open days.

Opus 40 is one of those places that you’ll never forget! It started out as a bluestone quarry and became one huge magical work of art. It took the owner of the property, Harvey Fire, 37 years to erect and construct this amazing and magical...More

Great place to grab lunch and have a nice picnic in the lawn. Kids enjoyed checking the statues and what opus 40 has to offer. It was hot and humid so it was hard to walk around. We be back in the future to spend...More

Realy I was surprised. I read a few lines on what is Opus 40 before I visited, but I was not prepared to see this. It is unorthodox, bizzarre and in general very nice. I don't want to spoil your impressions, please visit. Thumbs up.

Carve out a half day to take your time to meander through these 6 acres of quiet beauty. The sculptor took 37 years to hand build this place. The view of the Catskills, the ponds, the sculpture and all the dry stone work makes this...More

Dress for a nice casual walk around the grounds. It is very impressive and a fun way to spend a morning or afternoon, Woodstock is nearby and also the Ashoka Reservoir also of interest if you want to spend a whole day.

We weren’t sure what to expect , having not read anything about it, and we were stunned and thrilled by the scale of this amazing environmental sculpture. You can walk all around it, climbing down to narrow paths with the constructed walls around you, or...More

Fun and interesting wondering around this poor fellow's 37-year obsession. Very different from anything I've seen. Not the most amazing place, but definitely qualifies as being unique.

Worth the visit to this remarkable almost life long project. There are shady areas but there is a lot of sun so be prepared. Also know that the only bathrooms are port-a-potties. Only need about an hour to experience this.
