I've been visiting the area since attending Eagle Island Camp on Upper Saranac Lake many many years ago. Little has changed since then. How many places can claim that? I spent a week with friends in July 2015 (and in several other years). With a...More

This pretty lake is surrounded by beautiful historic homes. We visited in a chilly time of year but can imagine how wonderful this is in summer.

This natural lake is really nice. And the adjacent town is is a fun place to relax. We got there coming and going to Lake Placid and kind of wished that we stayed at Saranac.

Both Lake Placid and, increasingly, Tupper have much to be said in their favor, Saranac is IMHO a great combination of tourism and mountain town. Lots of activities all year around, it’s less pricey than Placid with more choices to eat and sleep than Tupper.

Terrible stay. Not recommended for the winter carnival. Rude host. Cold rooms and no WIFI. Stayed Feb. 2018. Attention new owners!

If you have a chance while visiting saranac lake make sure you visit TF Finnegans. Customer service at best. I just attended a wedding where the groom and groomsmen were fitted in the most standout tuxedos. Each one was a perfect fit.

Have been going here since the late 1940's and my folks retired here. We still visit as a family almost every summer. Town has held on and has its own identity. Restaurants are varied, nice lakes all over, great hiking camping, canoeing etc all nearby

The three saranac lakes and attendant lakes are a very beautiful area. The water is clear, clean and comfortable in mid-summer. There are several ramp launches as well as hand launches for kayaks and canoes. What stops this from being a 5 are two things:...More

Beautiful setting with friendly people and a size that not too large, not too small. Good for sailing small boats, fishing, canoeing, whatever you please.

Super nice friendly people everywhere. There is a l lot to do, mountains to climb, boats to use on the lakes, great places to eat. Good active night life here and in nearby Lake Placid.
