This is a great place that's owned b the county. Excellent location, lots of things to do, been there for a wedding among other things.

Of course a family wedding is a great event no matter where it is held, but the barn at Mabee Farm made the event unique in its rustic elegance! Guests enjoyed the barn and the grounds. Catered food was excellent. Wonderful and memorable!

I heard some nice things about this historical site, but it has been three days since emailing them for information of an event and no word. Either this is another of the current administrations to do away with American historical sites and hiring people who will not help keep it active, or perhaps it already hires people who just don't... We live just 45 minutes away but had not visited this site previously. We were enticed to make the trip by a special speaker that day and decided to go early to see the place. There is a very interesting exhibit there right now on food and culture that we enjoyed and learned from. Because of the lack of snow,... More

My husband and I visited Mabee Farm on a field trip with our sons class....Compared to other sites that are similar we were pleasantly surprised by the knowledge of the staff and were blown away by the working Blacksmith barn...much was learned and the children ranging in ages enjoyed themselves to the end....The grounds were in great shape, the stories... We were very glad we stopped by the Mabee farm. It is a beautiful setting next to the Mohawk River. Beautiful 300+ year old farmhouse and other buildings, still going through stages of preservation after being lived in for most of those 300 years. Fairly new interpretive center is a wonderful building with more exhibits and a gift shop. The... More

The Dutch house, barn and family cemetry are on a very historic site important to the 17th century settlement of the U.S. and NYS. The new interpretative center provides background information and there are interesting guided tours of the house and barn as well. Excellent exhibits and events are held in the center and on the grounds. Also visit the... More

One of the oldest buildings in the Mohawk Valley. There are interesting history programs at the site, craft fairs and other fun things. Sometimes they have boat rides on the Mohawk River.

Right next to the Mohawk River, the Mabee Farm contains a number of buildings and is constantly in use for a variety of activities, from reenactments to festivals. Check it before you go as the schedule of activities changes frequently.
